No.9 Florida Athletic vs. No.4 Tennessee (Thursday, 9pm ET)
While one Cinderella story came to an end, another one continued as No.9 Florida Atlantic overcame No.16 Fairleigh Dickinson to make their way into the Sweet 16.
No.4 Tennessee lies in wait, whose elite defense could well put an end to FAU’s Elite Eight dreams.
The Vols have silenced critics after a poor run of form heading into the tournament, shutting down the likes of Louisiana and Duke on the way to the Sweet 16.
While Johnell Davis was a standout for the Owls last time out, he could well be kept in check by the Tennessee defense. The Vols to win by six points or more looks a fairly respectable bet in this matchup.
TIP: Tennessee -5.5 (-110, BetMGM)
No.3 Gonzaga @ No.2 UCLA (Thursday, 9:45pm ET)
Thursday’s West Regional Semifinal is an absolute cracker, as the offensive giants of Gonzaga take on the defensive kings of UCLA.
Gonzaga have cruised to a 30-5 record this year, and their offensive talents of Drew Timme made sure the Bulldogs pushed through to the Sweet 16 with a 84-81 win over TCU.
While UCLA have looked a solid unit this term, they are slightly short-handed. Top level guard Jaylen Clark is out, while Adem Bona aggravated a shoulder injury and David Singleton suffered a gnarly ankle injury in the second round.
That gives the Bulldogs an opportunity to take hold of this matchup, and they look good value to topple the Bruins here.
