No.5 Miami FL @ No.1 Houston (Friday, 7:15pm ET)
With several big seeds crashing out in the first two rounds, Houston has a golden opportunity of reaching the Final Four that is being held in their own back yard.
Firstly, they must overcome fifth-seed Miami, who just about got past Drake in the first round before schooling Indiana 85-69.
While the Hurricane boast a fairly decent offense with the likes of Isaiah Wong and Jordan Miller on their roster, they could well come unstuck against one of the most efficient defenses in the whole of college basketball.
Houston’s elite defense could well make the Florida offense crumble here, and the action could unfold into a full-on rout for the Cougars.
The six-and-a-half-point spread looks achievable for Houston in this matchup, and they should well make it into the elite eight.
TIP: Houston -6.5 (-110, BetMGM)
No.5 San Diego State vs. No.1 Alabama (Friday, 6:30pm ET)
After two comfortable successes in the first two rounds, Alabama have flown into favouritism to win the NCAA tournament.
The Crimson Tide look to be in the driving seat to at least reach the final four, with their only concern coming with star player Brandon Miller, who is not playing at full strength after recovering from a groin injury.
However, they should not be phased by San Diego State. The Aztecs have been respectable defensively, but they are likely to come unstuck against a thriving Alabama offense and an well-drilled defense.
It has been over three decades since a Mountain West member reached the final four, and that run is likely to continue here.
Take the Crimson Tide and the under line as a same game double.
