Our Basketball expert picks out a few selections ahead of UConn’s clash with Alabama in the Final Four

The Final Four is officially here – with several big names competing for the NCAA National Champions.

Current favourite UConn look to be an unstoppable force currently – but Alabama stands in their way for a place in the National Championship game.

Our Basketball tipster has looked through the markets – picking out two selections that could be worth backing in the second Final Four matchup.

Here are the best bets for UConn v Alabama.

THE TIDE IS TURNING

If there’s one thing Alabama have gotten right this season, it’s their offense.

The Crimson Tide have been extremely efficient in the points department – as they recorded the highest average points per game total in the regular season (90.6) as well as being ranked third overall in adjusted offense on Kenpom.

While the UConn defense will prove to be a challenge, that shouldn’t faze Alabama. The Crimson Tide put up 89 points against both North Carolina and Clemson – who were in the top ten in adjusted defense in the Kenpom rankings.

The Huskies are a seriously strong unit in terms of their defense, but this Alabama team know how to stack up the points. Their total of 74.5 points in this match looks achievable – particularly when they’ve surpassed that score in six of their last seven games.

TIP: Alabama Over 74.5 Points (-110, FanDuel)

HOLDING UP THE HUSKIES

There isn’t much value in this matchup, but it could be worth siding with a particular first half market here.

While UConn dominated early on in the opening two rounds of March Madness, but that wasn’t the case in the last two contests. The Huskies went into half time with a nine-point lead against San Diego State and it was even shorter against Illinois, holding a five-point advantage.

The Crimson Tide have gone into half-time with the lead in three of their four March Madness games. While it is unlikely they will do that this time around, they could keep it closer than anticipated in the first half.

Take the six-and-a-half-point advantage for Alabama in the opening half.

TIP: Alabama +6.5 1st Half Handicap (-110, FanDuel)
