Our in-house tipster has three bets for this evening’s MNF matchup between the Bills and the Jets
After an action-packed opening weekend, Week 1 of the 2023 NFL concludes with an AFC East matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets on MNF.
Our resident tipster has scoured through the markets, naming three selections that could be worth backing ahead of this evening’s showdown in New Jersey.
Here are the best bets for Week 1’s MNF game.
CATCHING MR. RODGERS
Making his first start for the Jets, Aaron Rodgers will want to mark the beginning of a new era in New Jersey with success for his new franchise this evening.
While there is plenty of expectation on the four-time MVP, Rodgers could be pushed to his limits against a strong Bills defense here.
In four career starts against Buffalo, Rodgers has thrown four interceptions. It looks possible that could happen again, particularly when the Bills have a full strength secondary of Tre’Davious White, Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde.
The odds of Rodgers throwing at least one interception holds some value here, especially as you would expect there to be a few teething issues at first.
TIP: Aaron Rodgers Over 0.5 Interceptions (+124, FanDuel)
DAUNTING DALTON
The Jets were superb at containing running backs and wide recievers in the 2022 season. Their weakness? Proactive catching tight ends.
New York allowed the third-most targets and sixth-most receiving yards to TEs in the NFL last season, and with Buffalo possessing two talent pass catchers in the position, they could be the guys to cause the damage.
While Dawson Knox is the safer option to find the endzone of the two, it could be worth taking a chance on rookie Dalton Kincaid to score on his NFL debut.
The first-round draft pick scored 35 touchdowns in his college career and he could trusted with a decent amount of reps early on.
His price of +410 to score a touchdown anytime is interesting, as he could be an undetected threat by the Jets defense this week.
TIP: Dalton Kincaid Anytime TD (+410, FanDuel)
DIGGING A HOLE
After a shaky summer of trade rumours, Stefon Diggs looks to be in limbo with the Buffalo Bulls.
The three-time Pro Bowler has apparently gotten into a rift with starting QB Josh Allen – which could prove to be problematic in terms of his production.
Diggs will also be marked by Defensive Rookie of the Year Sauce Gardner – which will likely mean his total receiving yards could be lower than expected here.
His under line of 69.5 receiving yards looks appealing regarding the current situation.
