Our football expert looks through the NFL Drafts markets once again in hope of finding some value

There’s just over a week to go until the 2024 NFL Draft gets underway – with plenty of pundits putting in their mock drafts ahead of the event.

Plenty is to be decided over three days, with several upsets and surprises surely coming in this year’s draft.

Our football expert is back with more draft tips – picking out a couple of options that could be worth backing ahead of next week.

WORKING ON THE WIDEOUTS

Despite not having a first-round pick this year, the Carolina Panthers are already making their intentions known at the beginning of the second round.

New GM Dan Morgan was very clear with his aims for this team at the NFL Combine – stating that he wanted to surround Bryce Young with more playmakers.

While trading for Steelers WR Diontae Johnson is a strong start, it’s likely the Panthers will go into the draft looking for a receiver with some speed.

The likes of Texas junior Xavier Worth and South Carolina senior Xavier Legette could still be available at this point, so it would not be a shock to see Carolina add to their receiver unit early on.

BO’S THE MAN

If there’s only one quarterback that has gained a bit of attention in recent weeks, it’s Oregon star Bo Nix.

Pundits can’t seem to pick which round the senior goes – with some swaying toward the second round, while others are looking at Nix as a first-round pick.

The latter is what we’re siding with, as some franchises could opt to go with a quarterback early in the draft.

The Broncos looks to be his likeliest destination, as the AFC North are screaming for a new starter and Sean Payton knows how to get the best out of players with so-called ‘limited capacity’.

The Raiders are also looking for their future QB and it wouldn’t be the biggest of surprises to see them go for Nix with the 13th pick, while the Rams will want their star of the future with both Matthew Stafford and Jimmy Garoppolo edging closer toward retirement.

Taking Bo Nix to drafted in the first round is a gamble, but we have seen some surprise picks in the past.

TIP: Bo Nix to be drafted in the First Round (+140, FanDuel)
