The UF Team reveal their top picks for this weekend’s NFC Championship Game between the 49ers and the Eagles

It’s final four time in the NFL playoffs, as the final two teams from each conference face off for a place in Super Bowl LVII.

The first of the two Conference Championship games comes in the NFC, with the No.2 San Francisco 49ers hitting the road to take on the No.1 Philadelphia Eagles.

While it is likely that we will see a low-scoring game, due to the fact that these two sides arguably possess the best set of defenses in the NFC, there are a few players that could have a standout game here.

Firstly, it feels that DeVonta Smith is being slightly overlooked in terms of receiving yards. The former Heisman Trophy winner has recorded four 100+ yard games in four of his last six starts for the Eagles.

The second-year wideout has only been given a line of 66.5 receiving yards here, which we feel he could surpass if he is at his best.

The 49ers struggled to contain Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb last weekend, allowing him to catch 10 of his 13 targets for 117 yards on the day.

Despite A.J Brown widely being touted as the main receiver in the Eagles’ offense, Smith could still see plenty of workload come his way if Brown is subjected to double coverage from the San Fran defense.

Another line that looks in favour for the punter involves elite running back Christian McCaffrey. Even though he did have a quiet week against the Cowboys in terms of production, he was still able to find the endzone for the 49ers and drummed up 58 scrimmage yards on today.

Even with one of the best defensive lines in the conference, Philadelphia still allowed an average of 88.2 rushing yards per game to running backs in the regular season, which opens up an opportunity for CMC here.

In his three road games as a 49er so far, McCaffrey has recorded a whopping 323 rushing yards, averaging 5.1 YPC and scoring four total touchdowns in the process.

CMC’s over line of 60.5 rushing yards looks achievable in this matchup, and it makes a worthwhile bet for Sunday.
