Our football expert is back with a handful of big-price selections for this weekend’s Super Bowl clash in Las Vegas
This year’s Super Bowl showdown is fast approaching, with only four days to go until Sunday’s big game.
Our preview series for this year’s NFL Championship games continues this week, as we name a few longshot selections that could be appealing.
The four selections are priced between +750 and +3500, so they are definitely worth looking at!
Here are the best Longshot bets for this year’s Super Bowl matchup in Las Vegas.
CHARVARIUS WITH THE CATCH
Facing off against his former employers, 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward could have a big game on Sunday.
As mentioned in our MVP selections, the sixth-year pro was part of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIV roster and he was subsequently put into free agency following the conclusion of the 2021 season.
The Middle Tennessee graduate has been solid in his two seasons with San Francisco, and he has recorded a career high five interceptions this campaign.
Ward also leads the league in passes defended in 2023, and he should know how the Chiefs offense ticks after being part of the team for four seasons.
Ward has plenty of value to just simply record an interception in this matchup, but it could also be worth putting a little bit down on the cornerback to make the first interception of the game as well at +1800.
TIP: Charvarius Ward to Record an Interception (+750, FanDuel)
TIP: Charvarius Ward to Record First Interception of the Game (+1800, FanDuel)
THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE
The Super Bowl has kicked up plenty of surprise moments over the years – in an attempt to completely throw their opponent.
The Saints ‘Ambush’ onside kick call, the ‘Philly Special’ play and Randle El’s touchdown pass are just a few of the tricks play that have been engrained into football fans’ brains.
It would not be the Super Bowl if the element of surprise didn’t spring up in the game – and it may well happen in the passing department when looking at the two rosters.
On the 49ers roster, the likes of Deebo Samuel, Christian McCaffrey and Willie Sneed have all registered passing attempts in their NFL career – while Chiefs HC Andy Reid holds a deep catalogue of trick plays.
It’s definitely a longshot bet, but the Super Bowl has kicked up plenty of passing trick plays in the past – so there’s always a chance of a non-QB player registering a passing touchdown here.
TIP: Any Non-QB to throw a Passing Touchdown (+3500, FanDuel)
An underrated part of the San Fran offense, NFL veteran Kyle Juszczyk could be a surprise touchdown scorer in this matchup.
The 49ers fullback has scored two touchdowns this campaign, and he already has a Super Bowl TD to his name – finding the endzone in Super Bowl LIV.
Juszczyk has proven to be difficult for the KC defense in the past as well – as he has scored a touchdown in three of his four career appearances against them.
His price of +900 to find the endzone looks good value in this matchup, particularly when looking at his track record against the Chiefs.
