The UF Team reveal the best performing cards from this week’s Champions League contest

The final round of the UCL group stages has concluded, with the final 16 teams being confirmed for the knockout stages.

The likes of Juventus and Barcelona have been demoted to the Europa League, while Atletico Madrid has been knocked out of European competition completely.

The UF Team are back with their Team Of The Week segment, naming the seven-best performing cards from UCL 6.

DEFENDERS

CLEMENT LENGLET – Tottenham (12pts)

Spurs suffered an early scare to Marseille on Tuesday evening, but Clement Lenglet marked the start of their comeback win with a second-half goal.

The French centre-back claimed 12 points after scoring the equaliser and registering three tackles.

JAMES TAVERNIER – Rangers (11pts)

While their Champions League campaign has been slightly miserable this year, Rangers did find the net against Ajax on Tuesday evening, thanks to James Tavenier.

The full-back picked up 11 points in total, thanks to his goal and two SOTs.

MIDFIELDERS

LUKA MODRIC – Real Madrid (10pts)

Real Madrid secured top spot of Group F after thumping Celtic 5-1 at the Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.

Luka Modric opened the scoring with an early penalty, on his way to a total of 10 points overall.

DENIS ZAKARIA – Chelsea (9pts)

After two months at the club, Denis Zakaria marked his first start for Chelsea by getting himself on the scoresheet.

The Swiss midfielder claimed nine points in total, thanks to his goal against Dinamo Zagreb.

FORWARDS

OLIVIER GIROUD – AC Milan (26pts)

The King of UCL 6, Olivier Giroud was a nightmare for the Salzburg defence on Wednesday.

The former Arsenal forward claimed a whopping 26 points, thanks to his two goals and two assists.

JULIAN ALVAREZ – Man City (17pts)

Who needs Erling Haaland when you have Julian Alvarez?

The second-choice striker filled Haaland’s shoes quite impressively for Manchester City, as he registered two assists and even found the net in his side’s 3-1 win over Sevilla, on his way to a 17-point total.

TEAM

AC Milan (18pts)

In a winner-takes-all game, AC Milan thumped Salzburg at the San Siro as they claimed a 4-0 success.

The Serie A side claimed 18 points in total, thanks to their win (5), four goals (4), clean sheet (3) and six saves (6).

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

PSG’s Kylian Mbappe claimed 15 points against Juventus, Mehdi Taremi kept his good form for Porto as he picked up 14 points and Bayern’s TEAM card continued to be valuable as they landed 14 points.
