The UF Team give their top tips for this week’s XFL schedule
While the NFL season has drawn to a close, there is still plenty of football to be played as the XFL season heads into its third week.
A revived footballing competition headed by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, eight teams from across the US compete against each other to make it into the postseason and the chance to win the XFL Championship.
The UF Team has looked through the schedule, naming their best bets from the four XFL games pencilled in across the weekend.
Here are their top tips for Week 3 of the 2023 XFL season.
SEATTLE SEA DRAGONS @ VEGAS VIPERS UNDER 38.5 POINTS (-110, DraftKings)
This over/under line is intriguing, particularly when you look at the first two performances from the Vegas Vipers.
The Las Vegas team have been solid in terms of defense, but their weak offense has saw them only register 462 scrimmage yards across two games and four total touchdowns.
Both sides have failed to produce in their rushing attack, with the two franchises only managing to find the endzone on the ground twice between them.
The Sea Dragons turnover the ball too often, while the Vipers are not convincing in the receiving departments.
The under market for this game looks the best value, with the Vipers defense likely to play a part in that here.
ST. LOUIS BATTLEHAWKS MONEYLINE @ DC DEFENDERS (+120, DraftKings)
Even after only two games in the XFL, the St. Louis Battlehawks have already established themselves as the comeback kings in the league.
The North Division team came back from 15-3 down in the fourth quarter to beat the San Antonio Brahmas in Week 1, before snatching a late victory over the Seatle Sea Dragons last Thursday.
Led by experienced QB AJ McCarron, who won two National Championship with the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Battlehawks could make three wins in a row when they take on the DC Defenders this weekend.
The Defenders hold a 2-0 record as well, but their leaky offensive line and their stuttering passing attack make them a less than convincing favourite here.
Take the Battlehawks to battle back once again here, with their price of +120 looking decent value in a close matchup.
